Program Overview
The Banking & Finance program at SDA College offers progressive qualifications across four academic levels—Certificate, Diploma, Higher National Certificate (HNC), and Higher National Diploma (HND). Each stage is designed to build professional, technical, and ethical competencies required in financial institutions, microfinance organizations, and related industries within The Gambia and beyond.

Curriculum Structure
Each program within the Banking & Finance department is structured around modular learning, continuous assessment, and applied practice. Students complete core and elective modules through a mix of classroom learning, research, and supervised projects.
Program Levels
- Certificate in Banking & Finance – Foundational 6-month program.
- Diploma in Banking & Finance – Intermediate 1-year program (2 semesters).
- Higher National Certificate (HNC) – Applied 1-year program with Capstone Project.
- Higher National Diploma (HND) – Advanced 1-year program with Dissertation.

Assessment Methods
Assessment is conducted through class tests, assignments, group projects, practical exercises, and final examinations. Advanced programs incorporate research proposals, case studies, and oral defenses.
Duration & Timetable
Each semester follows a structured weekly timetable, Monday to Saturday, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Modules rotate weekly to ensure balanced coverage and exposure across all subjects.
