Background & Rationale
The Diploma in Business Administration program addresses the growing need for skilled professionals who can support the operations of SMEs, NGOs, and private sector institutions in The Gambia. The program emphasizes practical business knowledge, ethics, and entrepreneurial thinking to enable graduates to perform effectively in managerial and administrative capacities.
Program Objectives

Admission Requirements
- WASSCE or equivalent: Minimum of 5 credits including English and Mathematics.
- Mature Entry: Applicants aged 25+ with relevant work experience may apply, subject to aptitude test or interview.
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): In line with NAQAA standards.
Program Duration
Two years (4 semesters) of full-time study, including coursework, practicals, and a final research project.

Credit Hour System
The program follows a credit-hour system consistent with NAQAA standards, with each module carrying 2–4 credits. The total workload is approximately 120 credits over 2 years, meeting international diploma-level standards.
Quality Assurance & Monitoring
Program quality is maintained through academic board reviews, student feedback, staff peer evaluations, and periodic external moderation. Curriculum revisions occur every three years or as guided by NAQAA.
Staffing & Resources
Courses are delivered by qualified lecturers in business, management, accounting, economics, and ICT. Resources include ICT labs, classrooms, access to simulation software, and a library with current business textbooks and journals.
Progression Pathways
Graduates may progress to a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) or related degree programs. Employment opportunities exist in administrative, accounting, and supervisory roles in public, private, and NGO sectors.
